Authentic hosts Pakistan will break up Asia Cup matches with Sri Lanka underneath a brand new “hybrid mannequin”, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) stated on Thursday.
The transfer clears the way in which for Pakistan’s participation within the subsequent 50-overs World Cup in India in October-November.
“The match can be hosted in a hybrid mannequin with 4 matches being held in Pakistan, and the remaining 9 matches being performed in Sri Lanka,” the ACC stated in a press release.
India had dominated out travelling to Pakistan for the match starting on Aug. 31 due to the soured political relations between the neighbours who play one another solely in multi-team tournaments.
In reply, Pakistan had threatened to boycott the ODI World Cup in India in the event that they had been made to stage the complete Asia Cup out of the country.
The ultimate of the six-team match is scheduled on Sept. 17.
“We sit up for welcoming followers from all over the world to witness this celebration of cricket at its most interesting,” the ACC added within the assertion.
