Rajya Sabha member Ajay Pratap Singh quits BJP after not getting re-nominated | India News

NEW DELHI: Bhartiya Janta Party’s Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh Ajay Pratap Singh said on Saturday that he has resigned from party’s primary membership after not getting renominated by his party.
In a post on X, the former BJP leader shared the resignation letter addressed to the party president J P Nadda, saying, “I am resigning from the primary membership of the party.”
Singh did not mention any reason for his resignation.
Expressing displeasure over not getting re-nominated by the BJP, Singh told reporters that he wanted to fight from Sidhi Lok Sabha constituency but the party fielding Rajesh Mishra from there.
Singh was nominated to Rajya Sabha in March 2018 and his tenure is scheduled to end by April 2.
This comes hours after former BJP member A P Jithender Reddy, along with his son, switched sides to join Congress party in Telangana.
