本誌最新号で紹介した
岡山県倉敷市児島の製靴工場が
立ち上げたニューブランド、
ハイドベースプロジェクト。
ハイドベースプロジェクトは、
「日本の失われゆく“ものづくり”を次世代へと承継する」を
コンセプトに手仕事と機械仕事で表現するハンドメイドブランド。
継承されずに眠る多くの技術と製法をもう一度フォーカスし、
次の世代へ継承していくためにハイドベースは誕生し、
昨年から展開をスタートした。

ハイドベースプロジェクトは、岡山県倉敷市児島にある製靴工場が立ち上げたシューズブランド。ブランド名の「ハイドベース」とは隠れ家を意味し、職人たちが集まり、ものづくりに励む場所を目指す、という想いが込められている。デビュー作となるオリジン ハイ＆ローは、1900年代初頭のアメリカの古き良き時代を思わせるような雰囲気の一足（両モデルとも7色展開）。編集部はこの春に岡山県倉敷市児島の工場を訪ね、工場や製作工程を撮影するともに、スタッフや職人さんへのインタビュー取材を予定している。その模様はウェブスペシャルと次号でお伝えするのでお楽しみに。
