Kanguva
is
shot
on
elaborate
sets
and
at
locations
in
Chennai,
Goa,
Kerala,
and
Kodaikanal.
The
project
was
originally
announced
in
April
2019
under
the
working
title
of
Suriya
39.
The
pre-production
works
began
in
January
2021.
However,
it
was
delayed
after
Siva
went
on
to
direct
Annaatthe,
and
Suriya
was
busy
with
Soorarai
Pottru.
