Keaton Jennings piled extra agony on Somerset’s bowlers with a flawless century as Lancashire hit again strongly day two at Taunton.
Having notched a career-best 318 towards Somerset at Southport final season, the Lancashire captain cruised to 124 not out on the shut, out of a complete of 302-1, nicely supported by Luke Wells (82) and Josh Bohannon, who’s on 73.
That was in reply to Somerset, who began the day on 311-4, being bowled out for 441 all out.
In a single day centurions Tom Abell (151) and James Rew (117) each went on to make career-best scores, whereas England’s James Anderson continued his pre-Ashes sequence warm-up by taking three extra wickets to complete with 5-76 from 28 overs.
The day started nicely for Lancashire with two fast wickets, when Anderson had Rew caught behind with solely three added to his in a single day rating earlier than pinning Lewis Gregory lbw for 5.
