Former India captain Virat Kohli and animated wicket-taking celebrations are a match made in heaven. Kohli, whose exuberance on a cricket field is difficult to match, is often the centre of attraction even without playing any role in the dismissal of an opposition batter.

Taking into consideration how Kohli’s mere presence on the ground generates an ample amount of energy, Kohli’s knack of never shying away from having a word or two with opposition batters add to his overall supremely animated personality doing his thing.

In a PUMA Jam With Fam event held in Bengaluru last month, Kohli’s wife and actor-producer Anushka Sharma was asked to emulate one of her husband’s wicket-taking celebrations in his presence. An actor by profession, Anushka didn’t require a lot of time or preparation to run around the venue in jest pretending to celebrate like Virat.

“Sometimes, the bowler is not celebrating as much as Virat [Kohli] is,” Anushka, who was gasping, said right after completing her act in front of dozens of people who were hooting with laughter.

Kohli, meanwhile, admitted to be embarrassed at the sight of watching his celebratory video again in front of so many people. While it remains unknown which video was played during the event, one can understand the reason behind Kohli saying so considering the nature of his unfiltered celebrations.

“Dekho, yeh sab cheezein hoti hai moment mein. Yeh baar-baar chala ke aisa mat kara karo, yaar. Mere ko badi sharam aati hai baad mein [These things happen in the heat of the moment. Don’t play this video because I feel embarrassed now],” Kohli mentioned.

It is noteworthy that Kohli’s celebrations are so popular that his thigh-five move had even made it to the video of late singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s single track titled ‘Mera Na’ last month.

In what was one of the many hilarious segments recorded during the event, this one was immediately followed by Virat nailing a Ranveer Singh dialogue from the movie ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ (2010) which also featured Anushka in a titular role.
