The day belongs to India summarises the second day in Nagpur. Rohit led the way with a hundred. Jadeja and Axar Patel helped India take the lead past 100.

The day also saw debutant Aussie spinner Todd Murphy picking up five wickets to help his team stay in the fight.

India has 144 runs lead at the end of Day 2, which is already a match-deciding one. They have both Jadeja and Axar at the crease targeting a lead above 200 unless Aussie bowlers manage an early breakthrough.

On a pitch that has good support for Spinners, India is in the driving seat. It would take some massive effort from Australia to make a comeback.

On Day three, their first task will be to pick up the remaining three wickets without conceding too many runs. The batters will have to apply themselves and put in a fighting total in the second innings, if they have to make a match out of the current situation.

Australia will have to make anything above 350 in their second innings. The responsibility will again be on Marnus Labuchagne and Steve Smith to score the bulk of the runs.

The openers will have to contribute, and Warner will have a key role. It won’t be easy for the left-handers in the Aussie lineup to score easily against the Indian spin trio. It also need to see if Matt Renshaw will be fit and available to play once Aussies bat again. He was off the field with a knee injury and Ashton Agar took the field instead of him on day two.

In a normal scenario, this match is heading to a comfortable win for India and is unlikely to get to the fifth day. However, Cricket is a great game because of the twist and turns that bring along every day.

We may need to wait to see if there is a fightback from the Aussies on Day three to keep the match alive.
