England changed the way ODI cricket played with Eoin Morgan at the helm. Now Stokes with Brendon McCullum is changing the way Test Cricket is being played.

England under Stokes and Baz

In the 10 test matches under the duo, they have given world cricket the term Bazball and changed the perception of how to play Test Cricket.

They did it in England and continued the same in Pakistan to win the series away from home.

Stokes has lost only one match under his captaincy so far. The cricket world was waiting to see how long the pattern may continue. Whether they follow the same approach away from home?

England toured Pakistan with the approach which helped them produce results in extremely batter-friendly conditions. The fearless attitude of players and someone in the team will fire approach, is something that is producing results even till day.

England in New Zealand

It was no surprise to see England playing the Bazball way in the first test against New Zealand, where they scored almost six runs per over. They managed to score 325/9 in the first innings.

Stokes declared the first innings with a wicket to go and more than 15 overs remaining. The aggressive approach to make use of the pink ball under the lights has also paid off, with them picking up three wickets.

While New Zealand almost scored near England’s first-innings target, England came back with a quick scoring approach even in the second innings.

Most of their batsmen managed to chip in with a valuable contribution. England, once again scored at a rate of over five runs per over to put 374 on board.

The quick scoring helped them again bowling during the last session with the pink ball, and they managed the best out of the situation.

England had run through the New Zealand top order to pick up five wickets. Stuart Broad led the attack this time with four wickets and put them in the driving seat.

The Stokes-Baz approach has been making waves across world cricket, and they have tried it in different conditions at the moment. They may fail one day or maybe on several occasions. However, the approach has made its impact and produced results so far.

The team first, and anyone who can boost the team’s chances is leading their way, also is something that will revive Test cricket overall.
